City Woman Magazine had a special conversation with Lynn de Souza. Here it is:-

What is social Access and how it helpful to common people and women?

Social Access Communications is India's first and only not-for-profit communications firm that works exclusively for social causes. The firm designs and executes communications strategy for NGO's, CSR activities of corporates and government public service campaigns. It has a team of some of the best minds in the advertising, media, film making and public relations field who have come together to lend their expertise for social causes.

What is the importance of women's empowerment in India ?
Empowering girls and women is important all over the world but more so in India where women have never enjoyed equal status in real life, only as goddesses. From the womb to the pyre, girls and women are still afraid for their lives and safety. It's important for young girls to be given equal opportunities to develop and grow, to play, create and contribute outside the four walls of the kitchen. It's not just about surviving, but about thriving. Women have done very well in the political, banking, social and corporate worlds in India. Better than other countries in fact. But there is still a long way to go. As women gain more confidence and ore prominence, it's sad to see that men feel threatened and crimes against women are so much on the rise.

What steps are being taken by social access for Girl Child and Women Empowerment ?
We work for clients in this area. In 2014, we had a done a research for Population First about Sexual Harassment in the workplace, and followed it up with a seminar. We have produced a film for SNEHA which has won a global award, on their work with young adolescent girls. We will shortly be fielding a seminar on the specific subject of crimes against women.

A recipient of several awards for performance excellence, humanitarianism, and contribution to the growth of the advertising industry, Lynn staunchly maintains that her most cherished award is a grateful smile, or a lick!, and that her best is yet to come.
