In today’s world when everyone works for applause Sulekha chose to work for a cause. Sulekha Rana chose to do something for children with special needs and that too in the field of sports.
Ms. Sulekha Rana is associated with Special Olympics since 2005 and is currently working as Senior Manager,Special Olympics Bharat.
Born in a middle class family from Himachal Pradesh Sulekha led a normal childhood. Her father is a retired government employee and mother is a homemaker. She completed her initial school in Himachal Pradesh and later moved to Delhi. She has graduated from prestigious Miranda House. For post-graduation she chose correspondence course from IGNOU in Public Administration. A sports enthusiast right from her childhood, Sulekha carved a niche for herself in Softball and she reached till national level. She has also done NIS Certificate course from Banglore and secured A grade.

After graduation Sulekha joined Special Olympic as coach in 2005.Joining Special Olympics was not something she had planned but she believes that God chose her for Special Children and it’s a blessing from Almighty.Later Sulekha became manager of GMS(Games Management System) where she had to maintain all the records of the registered athletes, championship data, world games data etc. Recently she got promoted to Senior Manager,Organisation Development.Her job profile is to implement Young Athlete Programme throughout India, maintain records and co-ordinate with states.

Awards and Achievements:
International
*2007- Appointed as head coach in athletics for Special Olympics World Summer Games at Shanghai,China.
*2011-Appointed as head coach in athletics for Special Olympics World Summer Games at Athens,Greece.
* Head Coach in Athletics for Special Olympics Asia Pacific Regional Games at Australia
*2013- Appointed as Head Coach in Figure Skating for the Special Olympics World Winter games held at Pyeong Chang, Republic of Korea.
2017- First lady from Special Olympics Bharat (India) to be selected as the GMS official for the Special Olympics World Winter Games at Graz-  Austria .

National Achievements
Conducted many District And State Games for Special Olympics Bharat, Delhi as District Director.
Worked as member of Organising Committee for most National Championship conducted by Special Olympics Bharat.
Nominated  by Special Olympics, Bharat as co-ordinator for MYAS games for all disabilities under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports from 2010 -2014.
Worked as regional trainer for Special Olympics Bharat
Worked as main resource person for Softball and instrumental in forming Special Olympics Softball team.
